Block Certified: Lexdray

I am a bag fanatic. I switch in and out of bags more than I should. My Cannon G11 jumps from camera bag to camera bag. My daily back pack is ever evolving. While I thought I had settled into the (overly expensive Japanese brand) back pack that I would ride with long term, I have discovered a new company that has me questioning my current situation.

Lexdray is about to launch their first season which is called “The Classified Collection”. Think what Jason Bourne is toting while traveling and plotting revenge on the agency that wiped his memory. Yeah that ill. Ultra durable weather resistant fabrics, secret pockets, military grade hardware and blacked out for a sleek presentation.

I need them and you do too. Below are some of my favorites.

Block Certified: Shwood Eyewear

Been a while since I “Block Certified” some products.

Shwood hand makes wooden sunglass frames out of Portland, Oregon. Good ol’ fashion craftsmanship designed to showcase the beauty of natural wood while creating a product that is as useful as it is stylish. Made in Maple, East Indian Rosewood, or Zebrawood with imported Carl Zeiss or polarized lenses. This is where I “wood” make a “getting wood” or a “woodie” comment, but I am too mature for that.

I just had an Epiphany…

…Delivery

Epiphany Media out of NYC is one of the leaders in creative partnerships. Their job is to introduce “us” to “them”. Their partnerships with companies like Pepsi and Timberland have resulted in great energy that plugs directly into the vein of the influencer.

I am never surprised at what they manage to accomplish.

Thanks to my friends @Team Epiphany for the great gifts. Visit them here: www.EpiphanyMediallc.com

Cannon…Cannon…Cannon & Set Free @ The Compound

The homie Set Free has found some free time in his already super stretched schedule to start a internet radio show. Why not! His live show features guests, call ins, great commentary on lifestyle and of course music. Peep it here on voltaradio.com.

He has also lent his assistance to MTV’s upcoming “My Block” series which is highlighting “the city of brotherly love” Philly which will feature Freeway, Young Chris, Gilbere Forte, and a host of others.

GURU FOREVER

When an artist or high profile person passes on, a fan’s way of mourning is more of an acknowledgment of what they’ve done than who they are as a person because there wasn’t a personal relationship.

Sometimes that bond made through music is more personal than a relationship with someone you knew. My life story is no more tragic than the next person from my area. A youth filled with parents divorce, city life, running the street, moving constantly, lost some friends to the pen and the other side. Music was truly my “safe place”. Mom and dad arguing was drowned out by EPMD and Gangstarr. That’s it. I could plug to a lie director test on that.

Gangstarr was and is everything to me. Guru’s voice was the reasoning of a person that was college educated, street smart and had knowledge of self— all that came through the music. It was what I gravitated to during a period where things weren’t great.

Hearing Guru passed away and the circumstances behind it truly made me sad.

He will live on in his music and through the legacy he left behind with his art.

Maybe my brother Franco will bump into him up there—

Rest in paradise.

Butcher’s Block TV Trailer

COMING SOON!

The Butcher’s Block x Quintin

It’s my pleasure to debut my collaboration with Quintin Co. I first worked with Quintin on the cap I did for the Save Haiti event I put together with Brek. One here in Boston. Quintin has been on the four front of what they do and have worked with an impressive list of collaborators.

It was a great experience developing these caps which I feel represent my brand and character well. Fitted dog ear 5-panel with rugged materials, dope colors and The Butcher’s Block embroidery are street ready! On the back you will find my motto which is also featured on the splash page of my website.

Big shouts to Brett, Carlos and Chris on the opportunity.
